WebWorks Announces Schedule for RoundUp 2009 Conference

Focus Will Be on Panel Discussions and Themed Mini “Boot Camps”

AUSTIN, Texas —June 9, 2009 — The WebWorks team is pleased to announce that the schedule for the third-annual WebWorks Users conference, RoundUp 2009, has been finalized.

This year’s focus is on increasing customer involvement and engaging in meaningful conversations that will provide the most value to conference attendees.

Instead of traditional presentations followed by question-and-answer sessions, we will be increasing attendee participation through panels and a selection of themed “boot camp” sessions.

Topics to be covered on the panels and in the workshops include:

  • Wiki publishing
  • Web 2.0 and its impact on corporate communications
  • Automating the publishing process
  • DITA
  • Content development best practices
  • ePublisher “under the covers”

WebWorks is also delighted to announce that Stewart Mader, author of the excellent Wikipatterns book, and Tom Johnson, creator of the industry- leading I’d Rather Be Writing blog, will be joining us as featured speakers.

RoundUp provides the ideal mix of training, developer workshops, business information sessions and partner briefings for existing, new and prospective WebWorks customers.

RoundUp ’09 will be held from October 19 to 21, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency Austin.

The Hyatt, a new venue for the conference, is located on the banks of Lady Bird Lake right in the center of downtown Austin and offers spectacular views of the city skyline as well as the lake and surrounding countryside. It is within easy walking distance of the famous Austin downtown live music scene, as well as the growing Warehouse Entertainment District and the eclectic SoCo (South Congress) area. The famous Threadgills music venue is just a block away, and the hotel itself is situated on the 10-mile lakeside hike-bike trail.

We’ll take advantage of this great location by holding our welcome reception on the decks of the 70-foot M.V. Pride & Joy riverboat as we enjoy a sunset cruise around the lake.

We worked very closely with the hotel to make this year’s RoundUp even more affordable in the current economic climate. We have managed to hold the registration fee steady for the third straight year and the hotel rate will be the cheapest we’ve been able to offer so far, with a special conference room rate of just $199/night.

Full conference details for RoundUp 2009, along with online booking forms for both the hotel and conference registration, can be found at the conference Web site at www.webworksroundup.com. Presentation materials and recordings from RoundUp ’08 are also available.

We are looking forward to welcoming our customers and partners to this great new venue for three days of product knowledge, case studies, industry trends, networking, and some Texas-style hospitality.
